Our Love Story

Nick and I met way back in Jr. High School where we were both in the Ramay Junior High Band and Student Council about 9 years ago. We were always hanging out in the same friend group and were both big flirts. Throughout our friendship, we each had crushes on one another, but never at the same time. We remained friends all through school, dated other people, and graduated. After high school, we parted ways. While both of us were pursuing Music Education degrees, I moved to Springfield, Missouri and attended Missouri State University, and Nick remained in Fayetteville at the University of Arkansas.

After 2 years, we reconnecting when I moved back to NWA. We began hanging out with mutual friends and caught up on everything we’d missed. Eventually, Nick asked me out to watch one of his friend's band play downtown. This was the beginning of several adventures including an overnight float trip on the Buffalo River, binge watching New Girl, and eventually, our first official date.

Unfortunately for us, Nick left for Drum Corps for six weeks the day after our first date. We called each other almost every day and were eager to go on a second date. Thanks to Nick’s persistent persuasion, I impulsively joined the Razorback Marching Band and kept it a surprise till he returned from Drum Corps. After surviving early week, we decided we were serious about each other and decided to start dating over our favorite, mint chocolate chip ice-cream.

As a wedding planner, we talked about weddings a lot, and it was clear that’s where our relationship was headed. While on a Spring Break trip we went to Colorado with our college ministry. While there, Nick got down on one knee at the Garden of the Gods and asked me to marry him. Lucky for him, I said yes!
